Fleet® oral laxative has been recalled by its manufacturer. Acute phosphate nephropathy, a form of acute kidney injury, has been associated with the use of oral sodium phosphate solutions. Fleet® oral laxative had been vigorously promoted since the early 1990s as a safe bowel cleanser for colonoscopy and other medical procedure preparation.
